As the second of a series of scientific meetings by the BCERC Network, this conference will focus on the integration of laboratory-based biology studies and epidemiology studies in research programs with active involvement of advocates and community members.

Research Presentations

Biologists and Epidemiologists from the Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Centers will report on studies in progress related to the biology of breast development during puberty, environmental exposures that influence breast development, and future breast cancer risks.

Community Advocate Presentations

Community Advocate members from the Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Centers and invited speakers will present topics relevant to the research studies in progress and will also address issues of public health communication of risks associated with environmental exposures.

Panel Discussions

Biologists, Epidemiologists, and Community Advocate members from the Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Centers Network will identify and discuss issues relevant to the effective integration of research and ideas.

Educational Meeting for Breast Cancer Advocates

In addition to the Scientific Presentations there will be a Educational Session for attendees that will help in translating the presentations for a non-scientific audience and promote discussion with the advocate community.

Poster Session

In the Poster Session, advocates and young investigators will present their work and ideas in progress. While the presenters will attend these posters to discuss their data during the first day of the meeting, posters will be displayed from the morning of November 10 until the end of meeting on November 11 to allow ample time for the attendees to read and study the presented material.
